{far4} Findings

Revealed | An alternative place to shop downtown Seattle

Don’t just purchase gift cards this holiday, give them something unique…

One of my favorite things in the world is a hidden gift shop with special pieces that you could never find at Westlake Shopping Center. Searching for the perfect gift is always easier with a one of a kind item that inspires and automatically reminds you of that special person.

{far4} offers just that.  Tucked away on trendy 1st Avenue in Pioneer Square is the most exquisite little gift shop. {far4} specializes in one of a kind handmade gifts and decorative accessories. The store is run by brother and sister, Yuri & Jenny. The best part about {far4} is their unique porcelain collection made by their family’s studio in Moscow, Russia (I was gifted a porcelain strawberry, which I simply adore).

Beyond their porcelain, I was immediately drawn to their jewelry selection, which features pieces by Amanda Pearl, Kimberly Baker and Gabriela Artigas. All of the pieces are uniquely selected to not only be fashionable, but artistic as well.

Shopping for someone special or for a particular event? {far4} has you covered. Their website, which offers even more products than their store, has gifts organized by every occasion!

As if shopping wasn’t enough, {far4} often has in store events that allow shoppers to meet & greet with featured artists and designers. Find out about their upcoming events and specials by liking them on facebook.

SR wants to reveal this to you because everyone deserves a little something special-something you can’t find elsewhere and will stop people in their tracks and ask you where you got it from.

Check out some of my findings…

A “Glassy Tweetup” at Hotel Murano

10 Feb

The Lobby and Bar at Hotel Murano

Well that was fast! January has come and gone but I’m still sticking with my new year resolutions (YAY!). Last month I tackled my first one which was to “get out there”. What exactly does that mean right? Well being that I’m in a pretty new relationship, it’s been very easy to go out to eat, go to the movies, or snuggle on the couch with my sweetie. While I definitely enjoy hanging out with him in my free time, I also feel like I sometimes neglect my more social side. The tweetup at Hotel Murano last month turned out to be the perfect cure!

The Hotel Murano is located in Downtown Tacoma and is a sister property of  Hotel Max in Seattle (both are owned by Provenance Hotels). If you aren’t familiar with these hotels it is important to note that each has a distinct art theme. Can you guess what Hotel Murano’s theme is? Glass! Tacoma is the birthplace of famed glass sculptor Dale Chihuly and is also home to the Museum of Glass so it is only fitting that the hotel plays off of this as well. Besides the beauty of the hotel, the tweetup itself was a blast. Jen, social media manager for Provenance Hotels, throws terrific events. I went to a Hotel Max tweetup a few months ago and it was on an Argosy cruise ship on the Seattle waterfront with a live dj, free appetizers and even an ice luge! This tweetup was just as cool. When we arrived, we received scavenger hunt instructions which once completed, also served as entry to the raffle (held later in the evening). This turned out to be a great opportunity to browse the beautiful artwork located all over the property. We then got free hand massages from the ladies at Savi Day Spa and Salon which is connected to the hotel as well as a room tour. To top off the night, I won free tickets to the Museum of Glass and my friend won a gift card to the hotel’s restaurant, Bite.

Tweetups are a great opportunity to meet up with old friends as well as make new ones. I ran into Karen from the Red Cross Mount Rainier Chapter who I met at my very first tweetup at Pacific Place. I also met the fine folks behind TravelTacoma.com and TourismRevealed.com (great resources by the way!). As Stella would say…I’m getting my groove back.
